General work on the 'bridge burning' story, "Edge of the World," and other personal projects continues as usual.
But I'm here to talk about things for communities:
Springkink on lj:
June 4- Magic Knight Rayearth, lantis/hikaru/eagle: waterfall – since when do you need clothing for swimming? (art)
June 9- Suikoden Tierkreis, Asad/Chrodechild: Chrodechild doesn't realize she's on a date with Asad - Everybody's eyes are on them (art)
12- Final Fantasy Tactics, Mustadio/Ovelia: a pleasant escape, "Slumming, Princess?" (fic)
June 20- Suikoden 2, Viktor/Flik: Heat (hot lazy summer days; steamrooms; sweat-slick skin; tempers rising with the heat) - "It's the little things you do together / that make perfect relationships." (fic) <-yet to be finished...
Areyougame on ij:
July 4- Tales of the Abyss, Tear/Anise: dressing up/make-over - ded of cute (art, of course!) <- I started it yesterday! :D
There were some other themes I liked, but since I wasn't immediately struck with any big crazy ideas, I think I'm going to save my general urge to write for 31_days in July.
I also want to write one more Navigator story for (ij's) no_true_pair, since I sort of told myself that I would write four Navigator stories at least- for my favorite theme/pairing combination from each week's set.
Well, off to work.

11:51 am - Frustrated: with S, with myself
|
Some things with "S"* are really driving me crazy lately. I've decided to do the simplest (but not necessarily best) thing and ignore them.
*name withheld for privacy reasons.
I'm sick of being so fussy and drained. I feel very "up and down" lately. I still have one more week off, but I'm not looking forward to going to school at all. This will be my last semester, but it seems like it could be a real pain. I can't wait to be out of school forever.
I feel sort of blue. Depressed and whiny. Which is just dumb because I've got lots of free time to do the things I want to do! I need to perk up, darn it!

I got sick. Last Tuesday I felt so, so sick. And to a lesser degree I continued to feel sick on Wed., Thur., Fri., and Sat., so Saturday morning I went to see Dr. Mel. He washed out my ears, like I seem to need every so often, and gave me an antibiotic (As as some point I considered, it turned out I did have a UTI).
Well, the really bad thing about it was that I had barely eaten over those days before seeing the doctor, so my eating pattern was sort of screwed up. And it didn't get any better when I felt so nauseous after choking down some mylanta on Sat. evening. I was basically only eating out of sheer force of will power on Saturday and Sunday. (Mantra: "You cannot get dehydrated again, you must eat something." Repeat ad infinitum.) On Monday, I was still pretty messed out, but I ate some poppycock and actually enjoyed it.
So far today I have eaten a Japanese cookie from Dr. Xu and my regular meal at Rosa Pizza. This last bit makes me feel happy and hopeful since I was finally able to eat as much as I usually eat when I'm well in one sitting (even if one slice of pizza and a drink isn't a very big meal).
It's much easier for me to eat if I'm trying to read or write or talk to someone while I eat. Paying too much attention to eating sort of freaks me out right now.
I am justing hoping each day that the next day I'll wake up and feel perfect. So far, today has been the best, so that's a good sign. :]

As much as I like some of those FFIX and FFXII ones, I'm not sure I have it in me to pull them off.

11:15 am - Writing Success #1: Jin Rembrandt at 31_days

I received a very nice comment (and some other interest) on my "Think What You Want" story about Jin Rembrant, so I wrote about him again for the 18th ("Musicial Ability").
Sometimes I'm really embarrassed or bothered by this attention, but this was really very nice.

2:16 pm - Writing Issue 1: Jiiru Pohscratt Redux!

I just thought of a great bit of motivation for Pohscratt! Working off the background information concerning the messy shifting of the Messina-Ligaia border, it occurs to me that he should have been born and grown up in a town that once belonged to Ligaia, but is now part of Messina.
When the Messinans re-conquered the area, his family fled back east to safety, but they never really recovered financially- having been sort of important people in the town (perhaps his father was the mayor or some sort of other local leader?). So Pohscratt wants that land back to reclaim his family's good name and to return to his childhood home.
yay. I rather like it.

I've gotten back into writing about Messina, Sir Seif, etc, and I've also been reading a lot of opinions and thoughts about fantasy writing (mainly ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) limyaael's, and so the writing hang-up of the moment is:
General Jiiru Pohscratt
I think he was the last character to emerge from the massive cloud of fog that was the planning and early stages of this story, which explains a bit of my continued confusion about him.
I don't want to spend an overly large amount of time with Jiiru because I don't want him to be very likable and he's not really that important to the plot. Of course, I do want him his position to be understandable and he should be worth reading about, but really, his main use is to kill Ran and Li and injure Rowan.
Question: Why can't more anonymous members of the Ligaian force do this?
Answer: On the battlefield, the knights would be spread out and Seif wouldn't get to see all this casualties happen. Also, it seemed sort of weird to kill off four major Messinan (well, not technically, but you understand) characters and no one worth noting on the Ligaian side. Of course, this isn't a story about the Continent. I'm not giving the same amount of attention to both sides (though Ligaia is still owed a bit more), but at this point I'm actually just thinking of the unknown this and that about Ligaia as something to work on as I go because it would be boring if I'd already figured everything out.
Ho-hum. This didn't end up being very much about Pohscratt, did it?
My rambling, I'll say what I want. :D
